This splendidly located hotel, on National Trust coastline, looks out across Morte Bay towards Lundy Island and Hartland Point and every table in the restaurant has a sea-view. Three acres of gardens sweep down to the water's edge from the hotel and the whole area is enchanting. Dishes are prepared from a good mix of local ingredients and quality additions bought from further afield and are generally traditional in origin, with an imaginative flair always visible. An extensive wine list enhances the meal and house wine is at £10.95.
