Gail & Graham Riley have owned and run Lochside Lodge as a small hotel for the past 6 years and have many years experience of the Hotel & Catering industry. Graham is a Masterchef of Great Britain, has taken part in many competitions over the years obtaining several prestigious awards including being a Runner up in the Flavour of Scotland Scottish Thistle Awards in 2003 and now Winner of this prestigious award in 2004.
His food is modern & imaginative bringing together different flavours and colours from around the world and combining it with the wonderful local and seasonal produce from the Angus and Perthshire area. All dishes served in the Restaurant are created by Graham and presented to the highest standard. Also as a member of the Wine Guild of the United Kingdom - the wine list has been carefully selected to compliment his culinary delights.
Over the past few years, we have welcomed many new and returning customers to our small hotel Lochside Lodge and believe we have created a fine Restaurant with Rooms in the Angus Glens with many personal touches where guests are treated as individuals,warmly looked after and made to feel comfortable and at ease in a picturesque and peaceful location in our undiscovered area of Kirriemuir and Angus.

Using his international experience to create menus that offer imaginative and modern cuisine served and presented to the highest standards.
With everything made on the premises from fresh bread and rolls to delicious Ice Creams, petit fours and home made tablet, the menus change on a regular basis using the produce available locally.
Both Lunch and Dinner offer a 2 or 3 course option and Sunday Lunch offers a Roast of the Day.
Signature dishes include "Dunsyre Blue Cheese Brulee glazed with Creme Fraiche and served with Game & Orange Chutney" or "Seared Breast of Wild Duck and Five Spiced Confit Leg with a Plum & Heather Honey Reduction" "Warm Brioche & Butter Pudding served with home made Marmalade Ice Cream"
Lunch is served in The Steading where a wood burning stove awaits in the winter months and a fascinating collection of farming memorabilia placed on the wood panelled ceilings and original stone walls. On Sundays, Lunch is served in The Roundhouse Restaurant in the summer months. Dinner is normally served in The Roundhouse Restaurant although the same menu can be served in The Steading, if preferred.
The Wine List has a truly international flavour - wine is sourced from independent suppliers from all over the UK with a good selection of both French and New World offering a selection that compliments the food and suits most tastes.
