Hidden in Jesmond Dene, a small woodland valley five minutes from the centre of Newcastle, Fisherman’s Lodge is a haven of calm and the city’s finest seafood restaurant. Stylish, elegant and spacious, it’s the home of exquisitely prepared traditional and modern seafood dishes. Open for lunch, afternoon tea or dinner from Tuesday to Saturday, it’s hard not to be tempted.

This is more than a restaurant though. It’s an amazing place for weddings and parties. While the most advanced conference facilities make Fisherman’s Lodge the perfect place to do business.

Additional Comments:

Recognised for over twenty years as the finest seafood restaurant in Newcastle, Fisherman’s Lodge continues to serve only the freshest fish, delivered daily from the Quay at North Shields. Exotic dishes such as hand-dived scallops are brought in from the Isle of Skye, while lobster, Red Snapper and Monkfish are flown in daily from Cornwall. Favourites like Dover Sole, mussels and Sea Bass are always popular. But it’s not all fish. Northumbrian lamb, beef and venison are sourced from the best growers in the area. Oscar Wilde once famously said ‘I can resist everything except temptation’ and this sentiment could certainly be applied to desserts at Fisherman’s Lodge. Rich Chocolate and Orange Ganache Torte, Crushed Strawberry and Champagne Shortcake or even Exotic Fruit Soufflé with Frozen Pineapple Mousse and Passion Fruit and Mango Salsa. Why not simply submit to the inevitable and enjoy the indulgence? Then there’s the cheese. Selected with care, each one tells a story. Try tartufo, a pecorino style cheese studded with truffles, Epoisses, the most pungent cheese in the world, or Coeur de Camembert au Calvados. Whatever you choose, a meal at Fisherman’s Lodge is something special.
