Welcome to The Anchor

The staff and Management wish you a very warm welcome to The Anchor. This Inn, reputedly over 450 years old was originally opened as a Seaman's Mission, At that time Brunel had not built the Railway and the water used to go nearly up to Dawlish. We are told the Anchor was a haven for Seamen and Smugglers and is still haunted by a Friendly ghost and his dog.

Each day we also have a Fish of the Day and details of this will be found in the restaurant area. The snack menu is not available after 6.00 p.m. in the restaurant area. If you require assistance with the contents of any of our food i.e. nuts or flour we will be pleased to assist.

All of our food is specially prepared for you and therefore may take a little time before it is ready. We are certain however you will find this short wait well worth while.
